Garlic is one of the best natural substances for fighting the flu virus. You can very easily add more garlic to your diet in the form of supplements or just adding finely chopped garlic to your vegetable salads or whole cloves to your vegetable juices. Garlic also works to loosen respitory secretions to help you cough it up and get it out of the body. It is important that you use your garlic in as fresh a state as possible.

You can also use garlic to calm a raging sore throat by keeping a skinned clove in your mouth.
